- Personal Attack Alarms - Police Response
Over the past year the Police and various trade and regulatory bodies have been working to develop a detailed plan to reduce Personal Attack false alarms. Following this review a number of technical changes have been introduced that will mainly affect the control of equipment and these changes will be implemented over the forthcoming year. The Police will also be reducing the number of Personal Attack alarms allowed before response is withdrawn.
As with Intruder Alarms if the Personal Attack side loses response, then it must stay off response for three months before re-instatement. re-instatement is only permitted after three clear months of subsequent Personal Attack activations and then only after the cause of the false alarms has been investigated and rectified by the alarm company in conjunction with the customer.
The implementation dates vary depending upon the relevant Police Force but so far those that will no longer respond to Persoanl Attack Alarms after two false calls in a rolling twelve month period are detailed below;
1st January 2004 - Cumbria Police Force, West Midlands Police Force and Thames Valley Pollice Force.
1st February 2004 - Derbyshire Police Force
1st March 2004 - Metropolitan Police Force
1st April 2004 - Nottinghamshire Police Force
